Update 2002

2002 was a great year for Chris and One Stop Pop. His 6 part series "Northstars" which told the story of North-east pop and rock and contained original interviews with legends such as Eric Burdon, Brian Ferry, Brian Jonson, Mark Knopfler and many others won the Royal Television Society Award for best non-factual series. Chris also brought Eric Burdon of The Animals back to Newcastle for his first gig in 20 years for the documentary "Eric Burdon - Bring it on home" in November 2002. Chris co-produced "The Tube-20 years on" for ITV-1, wrote the sleeve notes for the "Best of The Tube" C.D. on universal, consulted on "Best of the Tube" DVD (due on Universal Spring 2003), and ended 2002 filming a rock musical in L.A. He is now working on Series 4 of "Single Luck" for IDTV .

Shows

Further to Brian Appleton's History of Rock and Roll, a comedy act which pays homage to Chris as a Rock Musicologist which toured last year in the UK, this Spring (2001) Brian Appleton will be touring in the UK as John Shuttleworth's special guest in One Foot In the Gravy.
